The DUOYI DY18 is primarily designed for testing components within a vehicle's electrical system. However, it can also be used to test components outside of the vehicle's system, as long as they are within the tester's voltage range of 6-24V DC.
To test components outside of the vehicle's electrical system with the DY18, follow these steps:
Connect the red clip to the positive terminal of a 6-24V DC power source.
Connect the black clip to the negative terminal of the power source.
Connect the component you want to test to the auxiliary ground lead and probe tip.
Turn on the power source.
Use the DY18 to test the component as you would normally do within a vehicle's electrical system.
Note that when testing components outside of the vehicle's electrical system, you need to ensure that the voltage range of the power source matches the DY18's voltage range, and that the component is safe to be tested in this manner.
